Sabarimala
Sabarimala is a pilgrimage place. The place is famous for the Sri Dharmasastha Temple. The temple is located at the core area of Periyar Tiger Reservoir. As part of the package your journey starts from Kochi, affording a sacred touch. Sri Dharmasastha Temple also known as the Sabarimala Temple or the Ayyappa Temple, is one of the most visited temples by the pilgrims. Thousands and thousands of devotees visit the temple during the period of Mandalapooja. Lord Ayyappa is one of the celebate gods, who is also known as the 'God of Growth.' The temple is unique in all sense, and there is no caste or religious differences. The people of any religion, cast, and creed can enter the temple. East to the Sannidhanam (main temple) there is a place dedicated to Vavar, the Sufian friend of Lord Ayyappa. One need to take 41 days fasting to purify the soul before entering the temple. The vehicle will only go up to Pamba, from that point you have to walk to the Temple. It takes you through many paths to get the darshan (to see the image of the deity) of Lord Ayyappa. After it all we will drive you back to Kochi.
Kochi to Sabarimala
Pickup from Kochi drive to Sabarimala ,Sabarimala Sree Dharma Sastha Temple, dedicated to Lord Ayyappa, is the most famous and prominent among all the Sastha temples in Kerala. The temple is situated on a hilltop (about 3000 feet above sea level) named Sabarimala in Pathanamthitta district, which is unique in many respects. The uniqueness gathers its voice, as the temple is open to all, irrespective of caste, creed or religion. There is a place near the temple; east to Sannidhanam, dedicated to the Vavar (a sufiand friend of Lord Ayyappa) which is called 'Vavarunada', an epitome of religious harmony. Another interesting fact is that it is not open throughout the year. It is open for worship only during the days of Mandalapooja, Makaravilakku and Chitra Vishu. It is said that the pilgrims have to follow fasting for 41 days to cleanse their minds before going to Sabarimala. The journey to the temple is to be taken through difficult paths in the forest as the vehicles can go only up to Pampa.Drop at pampa and vehicle remain their till you back from the temple .After darshan at the temple you will be picked up from Pampa and drop at Kochi
